Palo Alto Networks is announcing a new certification program which consists of four different level for all three Palo Alto Networks Platforms: Network Security, Security Operations, Cloud Security. With this new program, Palo Alto Networks moves from away from more product-focused certifications towards role-based certifications:

As you can see in the picture, there is one certification for the lowest “fundamental” level – which is the same in all three areas. On the “generalist” level you find one general certification per platform and as the name suggests, the “specialist” level includes various certifications that lead to different specializations. At the highest level, the “architect” level, there is again only one, but comprehensive certification per platform.
All of these certifications will be proctored certifications that can be taken via PearsonVUE.
As of today (November 2024), not all certifications are online yet. In the picture above, the currently available certifications are checked with a tick mark.
What does this mean for the existing certifications, i.e. for the PCSNE, PCSNA and PCSFE? – These are currently still fully valid and will remain so for the time being. However, we expect them to be replaced by the new certifications in the future.
And what does this mean for the partner levels and specializations? There will inevitably be changes here too – but right now there are no further information on how these will look like.
